2011 audi a5 convertible review
2011 audi a5 convertible review The 2011 Audi A5 and S5 have been updated with a new 8-speed automatic transmission that replaces the previous 6-speed automatic. Premium Plus and Prestige models each get two new wheel designs as well as a new Titanium Sport Package. Birch wood trim has been replaced with Nutmeg Laurel wood and the navigation system now incorporates HD Radio. Prestige models also get an optional power rear window shade and standard back up camera and rear parking sensors.

Unlike the A4 convertible that preceded it, the A5 convertible is styled much the same as the A5 two-door coupe. The body styles share the same basic lines on the outside, as well as the same interior and the same powertrain.

Eschewing the folding metal hard tops found in some Swedish, German and Japanese rivals, the A5 convertible features a fully insulated cloth top with a heated glass rear window. The top's lines roughly follow the roofline of the coupe, unlike many competitors.
What's new for 2011?

The biggest change to the 2011 Audi A5 is the availability of a new 8-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission. It replaces the previous 6-speed Tiptronic, and Audi claims the new compact gearbox is smoother and returns improved fuel economy.
